The 2023 Aston Martin DBS Volante is the open-top expression of Aston Martin's flagship grand tourer, and this car is finished in a vivid orange exterior over a black leather and Alcantara interior with orange contrast stitching and piping. It pairs the brand's most powerful series-production V12 with a fully automatic fabric roof, so you can drive it in full coupe comfort or with the sky overhead. At its heart is the hand-assembled 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12, producing 715 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission mounted at the rear as a transaxle, along with a mechanical limited-slip differential and a 2.93 axle ratio. The rear-mounted gearbox helps give the car near-ideal weight distribution. The DBS Volante accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 211 mph. Even at that level of performance, the V12 includes stop/start and cylinder deactivation for more efficient cruising. The chassis matches the engine. Double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension work with Bilstein adaptive dampers that offer driver-selectable modes, front and rear anti-roll bars, and electric speed-sensing power steering. Carbon ceramic brakes with drilled and vented discs handle stopping duties behind gloss black wheels. The wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires, 265/35R21 at the front and 305/30R21 at the rear. The design is unmistakably DBS. The orange paint contrasts sharply with a gloss black honeycomb grille, black fabric roof, black mirror caps, and black exterior badging, including the DBS fender badges and the spaced 'ASTON MARTIN' lettering across the rear. Exposed carbon fiber appears on the front splitter, the rear decklid spoiler, and the large rear diffuser. The rear diffuser frames the quad tailpipes. Twin hood vents, sculpted side strakes behind the front wheels, smoked LED taillights, and LED headlamps complete a look that is both elegant and aggressive.
